Create a personalized farmer's market guide to locally grown food. Learn about the botany of food while documenting the Fall harvest at the Arboretum's Farm Stand. Participants will sketch the current harvest and create printed images similar to the woodcut images in old herbals. Images can be used on recipe cards and food labels.

Note: Class fee includes selected art supplies. Attendees should bring to class a mixed media sketchbook no smaller than 9" x 12". Paper must be able to tolerate at least a little bit of water and ink. Also, bring a camping chair, folding chair or artists' travel stool to us ...more

Participants will create a sketchbook that will serve as a personalized guide to plants and a historical account of the golden age of botanical art. Students will work in a variety of media.
